Exceptional Pair Of Silver Stocked Right And Left Hand Percussion Scottish Dress Pistols by J.D. Dougall, Glasgow, Circa 1855

Deeply chased silver stocks, Birmingham hallmarks for 1855 (stamped under the blued belt hooks), finely scroll engraved case-hardened right and left hand percussion
locks with the Dougall signature, three stage blued and engraved barrels, (some areas of flaking), retaining original blued ramrods, engraved silver ball triggers, a winged griffin facing sinister in the escutcheons, 
screw out prickers located opposite the front of the lock plates, most unusual cairngorm butt-caps.
 
 Preserved in superb overall condition.
