Hilt of russet iron studded with bossets bordered with gilded lines, grip covered with plain and braided iron wire between Turk’s heads, blade inscribed on obverse of the ricasso “SANDRI” and on reverse “SCACCHI”, forte of blade grooved and perforated.
Note: This same mark appears on the blade of a sword in the Wallace Collection (A.613). Alessandro Scacchi worked at Brescia in the second half of the 16th century.
